Charlton County Court Docket Searches
No single search box covers every Charlton County court docket. No free anonymous option spans them all. Start with the Georgia E-Access directory. It then routes Charlton Superior and State Court lookups to PeachCourt. That system needs a free account. Probate and Magistrate offer forms and a walk-up counter. The office posts no public online case index. Folkston handles city citations and payments on its own route, while juvenile access stays restricted.
- Read the court name and exact case number from the notice, citation, filing receipt, or prior order.
- For Superior or State, enter PeachCourt through Georgia E-Access and choose Charlton plus the right court.
- Search the exact number with all hyphens and leading zeroes, or use a party name when the number is unknown.
- Open the matching case and compare its court, filing date, events, latest setting, status, and document controls.
- If the matter is absent, contact the right clerk and ask about inspection, an older index, or a plain or certified copy.
Treat the docket as your first map, not your last word. A stale setting can linger in the history, so the latest signed order plus a confirmation from the clerk always outweighs an old entry.
Suite A or Suite B?
The Charlton County courts landing page shows two distinct clerk offices.

Do not treat the courthouse as one records counter. That local rule matters in Charlton County. Suite A handles Superior, State, and Juvenile records. Suite B handles Probate and Magistrate files. Both suites sit at 1520 Third Street in Folkston, but their records and staff roles do not overlap.
Suite A
Superior, State & Juvenile Courts
Felony, major civil, misdemeanor, State civil, and juvenile files
912-496-2354
Suite B
Probate/Magistrate Court
Probate, small civil, dispossessory, garnishment, and warrant matters
912-496-2230
Court Dockets: What They Show
Open a Charlton County court docket and you usually see the court, case number, filing date, judge, and status first. Next come party roles and counsel, then filings and proceedings listed by date. Hearing settings appear as the case moves. A disposition or judgment shows up only once entered. Financial fields or document links depend on the court and provider.
| Case Number | The court's unique identifier; preserve its printed format, such as 2020-SU-TR-0001 or a Suite B CI- prefix. |
|---|---|
| Parties | Plaintiff, defendant, petitioner, respondent, or criminal defendant roles and counsel. |
| Entries | Complaints, indictments, answers, motions, orders, service, and other proceedings. |
| Settings | Event type, date, time, courtroom, and reset or continuance history when supplied. |
| Disposition | Judgment, plea, verdict, dismissal, nolle prosequi, or other dated result. |
| Documents | Linked images when available; access, completeness, and charges vary. |
Remember the limits. A charge is not a conviction. A claim is not a judgment. Read every field with its date, and check the order that gives it legal effect.
PeachCourt Is Charlton's Gateway
PeachCourt serves two jobs for Charlton County. It is the mandatory civil e-filing system and the listed public case-information provider for Superior and State Courts. Register first, then choose Search and Cases. Pick Charlton County and the court, type the exact case number, and open the result. If you lack the number, a party-name search works as a fallback. Search, then Filings, pulls a filing receipt with an exact Peach number. It never replaces the full case page.
| Field | Use | Local note |
|---|---|---|
| County | Choose the filing county | Select Charlton |
| Court | Choose State or Superior | Both are separately listed |
| Case number | Exact primary route | Keep hyphens and zeroes |
| Party name | Alternative search | Use to locate a known public case |
| Document control | View or request image | N/A can mean restricted or unavailable |
PeachCourt is not a free anonymous index for the county. Buying documents can bring a per-page amount, a $2 eAccess component, and a convenience charge. Check the live price before you pay.
Charlton County Courts and Their Dockets
Georgia runs six trial-court classes. Charlton County uses each one through local or circuit arrangements, and Folkston holds the county's documented municipal court. Knowing the named court tells you which docket holds the matter and which office answers copy requests.
| Court | Docket covers | Search or clerk |
|---|---|---|
| Superior | Felony, divorce, title, equity, major civil | PeachCourt and Suite A |
| State | Misdemeanor, county traffic, State civil | PeachCourt and Suite A |
| Juvenile | Delinquency, dependency, juvenile traffic | Suite A, confidential access |
| Probate | Estate, guardianship, probate matters | Suite B |
| Magistrate | Warrants, preliminary work, claims up to $15,000 | Suite B |
| Folkston Municipal | City traffic and ordinance cases | Citation and City Hall |
Appeals usually go to the Court of Appeals of Georgia. The Supreme Court of Georgia takes matters within its assigned jurisdiction. Either way, an appellate filing does not move the trial docket into PeachCourt under some new local court.
The 1928 Charlton Courthouse Docket
The county's courtroom facility page identifies the Stephen Jackson Courtroom on the second story.

The historic 1928 courthouse anchors the physical hearing space. Suite A and Suite B stay the records counters. Folkston Municipal Court also meets upstairs. Sharing a building does not make its docket a county clerk file.
Folkston became the county seat in 1901. The courthouse that preceded it burned in 1928. The current building dates to that year. Older Charlton County court docket material may predate any online system. It may live in bound books, index volumes, microfilm, or archived files. The county publishes no retention schedule or fire-loss inventory. Ask the clerk which format holds the year you need.
Court Dates and Settings in Charlton County
A docket setting can name the date, time, event type, judge, and courtroom. Trust the newest entry. A continuance or reset moves an event but often leaves the old line in the chronology. The clerk's calendar page carries an upcoming-calendars heading, though it posts no current linked calendar file. That gap makes clerk confirmation essential.
Call Suite A at 912-496-2354 for Superior or State dates, and Suite B at 912-496-2230 for Probate or Magistrate dates. Folkston Municipal Court says it normally meets at 9 a.m. on the first Monday of each month. A holiday usually pushes court to Tuesday. The lower portion of your citation controls the individual city date. City Hall confirms anything unclear at 912-496-2563.
Weather orders can sweep the whole six-county Waycross Circuit. A circuit closure notice is not a new local setting. Confirm the replacement date with the Charlton clerk.
Why Charlton Has No One Search Box
Georgia E-Access works as a directory, not one database. It points Charlton Superior and State users to PeachCourt. The Probate/Magistrate office offers forms and fees. It posts no public case viewer. Folkston gives citation and payment instructions. Homeland lists City Hall contact details without a court portal.
- Docket
- The chronological index of court events and filings.
- Filed document
- The complaint, motion, order, or other paper behind an entry.
- Certified copy
- A clerk-authenticated copy, distinct from a viewer image.
- Calendar
- A list of settings, which may change without erasing old docket entries.
Start any docket search with the court itself. A portal failure can mean the wrong court, the wrong format, older paper coverage, restricted access, or an image the provider simply does not supply.
Docket Access Under Georgia Law
Public access does not open every docket or image. Georgia court rules protect identifiers. They also allow sealing through proper court procedure. Juvenile records stay confidential. Adoption, family, and other sensitive records can carry limits too. One missing search result alone proves nothing about a seal.
Key Rules:
Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 makes court records public unless access is limited by law or a proper order.
Uniform Superior Court Rule 21.6 calls for redacted public filings and separate protection of sensitive identifiers.
O.C.G.A. ยง50-18-71 sets the general inspection, copy, response, and permitted-cost process for public records.
The county open-records form covers county-held administrative records. It cannot override a court seal. It may not even be the intake path for a judicial file, so confirm the legal custodian first.
A Charlton Docket Is Not a Document
A Charlton County court docket entry is really three different things. Knowing which one you hold matters. The docket itself is just the case index. Behind an entry sits the actual filing, such as a complaint, indictment, motion, or order. A certified copy adds the clerk's authentication. A screen view helps you track a case. Offices that demand official paper may turn it away.
PeachCourt lets account holders buy file-stamped documents when available. Sealed items, adoptions, and unexecuted proposed orders stay off limits. Coverage is uneven, and older records may never have gone online. Suite B charges $1 for plain copies and $10 for certified ones. Those prices belong to Suite B alone. Suite A sets its own fees. Ask for a current quote along with accepted payment, delivery options, and turnaround time.
Transcripts are a separate animal. They come from the court reporter, not the docket entry. Any request should name the court, case number, document name and date. Also state the type of copy you need.
How the Clerk Keeps Docket Records
The official clerk page publishes the main office, duties, contact details, and hours.

Wendy Whitaker-Lee serves as clerk across Superior, State, and Juvenile records in one unified office. You can reach the Charlton County clerk at 1520 Third Street, Suite A, Folkston, GA 31537-8961. Weekday counter hours run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 912-496-2354 or fax 912-496-3882.
Clerk of Superior, State & Juvenile Courts
1520 Third Street, Suite A
Folkston, GA 31537-8961
912-496-2354
The clerk publishes mail and fax addresses, but not a full request form. Nor does the office publish payment rules, ID requirements, or a turnaround promise. Call before mailing any copy request, and ask whether a public terminal exists rather than assuming one does.
Charlton Federal Dockets Use PACER
The official Southern District of Georgia Waycross page names the federal courthouse serving Charlton County and its case-information route.

The Waycross courthouse sits at 601 Tebeau Street, Waycross. For case information, the page points callers to the Brunswick Clerk's Office at 912-280-1330. Federal district cases run through PACER and CM/ECF, never PeachCourt or Suite A. The Southern District of Georgia Bankruptcy Court also serves the area and lists a Waycross branch.

Bankruptcy matters follow the bankruptcy court's own PACER and CM/ECF path. PACER requires an account. It charges by page, with caps and a quarterly waiver threshold. A pricing change is scheduled for 2027. Check the live federal fee page before relying on old figures.
City-by-City Court Dockets in Charlton County
The official 2020 Census table lists two incorporated cities in Charlton County. Folkston has the documented municipal court. It handles city traffic and ordinance matters. Homeland's official page gives City Hall contact details. It lists no current public municipal docket, judge, calendar, or payment portal. Read the issuing court printed on your citation before picking city or county access.
Folkston Court Records
Population 4,464 · Municipal court normally meets the first Monday at the county courthouse.
Homeland Court Records
Population 886 · Start with City Hall and the issuing agency because no public court portal was located.
A Folkston hearing can happen inside the same courthouse as county cases yet still be a city record. Likewise, a Homeland address alone proves nothing about which court issued a citation.
The Charlton Docket Fallback Chain
A Charlton County court docket will not always surface. Start by pinning down the court and the case-number family. Retry PeachCourt only for Superior or State cases. Double-check the year, the hyphens, and the court prefix. Then call the right office. It may be Suite A, Suite B, Folkston, Homeland, or the federal clerk. Base the choice on who issued the case. Ask whether the record is digital, paper, archived, sealed, juvenile, or held elsewhere. A precise request gets further. Name the court, the exact case number, and the filing year. Add the document and its date, your preferred format, and whether you need certification. Ask about inspection, plain copies, current fees, payment, mailing, and timing. Try the county open-records route only after confirming that county administration actually holds the material.
The fallback depends on the record itself. A Folkston citation turns on the ticket date and City Hall. A Homeland citation starts with City Hall at 912-496-7332. Add the issuing agency. A Magistrate claim begins with its CI- form and Suite B. An older Superior or State file starts with Suite A. That applies even when PeachCourt returns nothing. A Waycross Division federal case belongs to the federal clerk and PACER. Each route keeps your request away from offices that never held the source record.
Before traveling, ask the court about accommodations, interpreters, security rules, parking, and visits. The county publishes no complete courthouse procedure covering those needs. Folkston is the county seat. Still, Charlton spans about 781 square miles, and more than 98 percent of it is forested. A wasted trip can be expensive. Confirm the counter, hours, document availability, and payment options before you leave home.
Note: Official Georgia dashboards report aggregate self-reported case counts. They are not individual Charlton docket records or a verified local backlog total.
Map and Directions to the Charlton County Courthouse
Superior, State, and Juvenile Court records are kept in Suite A, while Probate and Magistrate files are kept in Suite B, both inside the Charlton County Courthouse at 1520 Third Street in Folkston. The upstairs Stephen Jackson Courtroom, on the second story, is also where Folkston Municipal Court normally convenes at 9:00 a.m. the first Monday of the month. The building was constructed in 1928 in the Neoclassical Revival/Georgian Revival style and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
